Anantasana Yoga Rishikesh

Anantasana or Sleeping Vishnu Pose is a form of yoga pose which can be practiced   at home or office or work place. The Anantasana word is originated from the Sanskrit phrase "The Ananta" which means ‘The Thing without any end ’ The word Anantasana has been taken from Sheshnag on which Lord vishnu used to take rest in Kshir sagar . This pose resembles with pose of Lord Vishnu where he is lyside-reclining left leg pose, This pose is also known as side reclining left leg pose.

  How to Do Anantasana

To get started with Anantasana pursue the under mentioned steps  :

- lie down on your back in total straight position.

- Take a turn to eft hand side.

- Now start lifting upright leg and take it to 90 degree angle. Now place your left hand below your head for support.

- Now raise your right hand up in the air & try to hold toes of right leg .

-  Try to stay in this position for 20 seconds, Hold your breath & then release.

- Now move slowly to turn on other side and repeat same activity at other side.

Contraindications to the Anantasana:

Anantasana is not suggested for people suffering from sciatica pain, slip disc issues & spondilitis .
